THE MOTHER OF ALL BOOKS
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, has guaranteed to preserve this Qur’an, and He says: in Surah Baqara “Verily, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr and surely, We will guard it.” Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in Surah al-e Imram, “Surely this is a Glorious Qur'an, inscribed on a Preserved Tablet(Al-Lawh al- Mahfuz)”. And in surah Al-Waqi’ah, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says: “This is indeed a Glorious Qur'an, in a well-guarded Book.” And in Surah Zukhruf, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, says: "And verily it is in the Mother of the Book in Our Presence high, full of wisdom". From this we understand that the Qur’an is with Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, in the Lawh Al-Mahfuz and was revealed to Muhammad (Peace be upon him), in two stages. At first stage is when, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, sent the Qur’an down as a whole from the Lawh Al-Mahfuz (Preserved Tablet) to the Baytul-Izzah (House of Might), which is in the lower heaven of this world. The second stage constitutes how Malaikah Gabriel brought down the separate parts thereof to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), based upon the incidents that occurred over a period of twenty two years. The Prophet (PBUH) received the first revelation in 610CE, while he was in the Cave of Hira, in the Mountain of Light (Jabal-e-Noor), on the outskirts of the city of Makkah. This happened on Laila-tul-qadr (Night of Decree) in the holy month of Ramadan, brought through Malaikah Gabriel. The Qur'an was subsequently revealed in stages over a period of 22 years, and not as a complete book as seperate and single acts of revelation. Initially was sent to strengthen the heart of the Prophet (PBUH) by addressing him continuously and whenever the need for guidance arose. Followed by Ayaat to gradually implement the laws of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And to make understanding, the application of the laws and memorization of the revelation easier for the believers.During the 22 years of the revelation, Prophet (PBUH) resided in Makkah for the first 13 years, he then migrated to Madina in the year 622CE, where revelation continued for ten more years. Approximately two-third of the Qur’an was revealed while the prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) lived in Makkah, and the remaining Surahs and Ayaat were revealed in Madina, with some Surahs revealed during the period of migration from Makkah to Madina. The following list are the names of Surahs of Qur'an.
The Arabic language is without a doubt the most eloquent, expressive and descriptive language on the face of the earth. It is the only ancient language that is still in current use and the mother tongue of over 470 million Arabs as well as the liturgical language of the 2.4 billion Muslims globally. The internal evidence of the Qur'an says: "We have revealed this Qur'an in the Arabic Language so that you may understand". The Qur'an speaks to us in the most eloquent of speech, having the deepest and most expressive meanings, giving guidance with absolute clarity and therefore considered to be the most honorable of Books. If fact it is The Mother of all Books. The Qur'an is the verbatim word of the Lord of the Worlds Book confirming scripture (Torah / Injeel) sent before it, revealed to the most honorable of the Prophets (Muhammad -Peace be upon him), delivered to him by the most honorable of all angels (Gabriel), at the most honorable place on the face of the earth (Makkah). Its revelation commenced in the most honorable month of the Islamic year (Ramadan) on the most honourable day of the week (Friday). Sent as a guidance to mankind and as a light to deliver him from darkness. As such the Qur'an is the only complete and authentic heavenly book in existence and claims itself to be the final revelation from God Almighty.
The central theme of the the Qur’an is the Oneness of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, as Lord of the Universe and that belief in Him is the right way and the only way. It encourages believers to call to the truth and the forbid the bad. That death is a reality, that resurrection is a surety and that every being will return to Him for reckoning. That the righteous will be successful and the sinful will be in torment forever. It further declares that this same exact reality was revealed to Adam (PBUH), and each and every prophet after him, and that they all submitted their will to Him. All of whom aimed to illuminate Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala’s true guidance, which was often lost either through man's negligence and heedlessness or purposely distorted by the wicked and perverse among them. The Qur’an primarily address two groups of people viz, the People of the Book and the Arabs. The Arabs were from the progeny of Prophet Ismail (PBUH), the son of Prophet Ibraheem (Peace be upon him) who were never has sent a any Prophet prior to Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The Qur’an further discusses and addresses the previous submitters viz, the Jews and the Christians. Both of whom were given previous scriptures before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The Qur'an emphasis that it was revealed as a guidance and addresses all of the Mankind, and not to a particular group or a nation. It speaks to innumerable peoples, of the past with a style and clarity of description that seem to specifically apply
